Paleo Turkey Sloppy Joes {Whole30}

After you try these, you will never buy the canned or sauce packet version of this childhood favorite again!

Paleo Turkey Sloppy Joes

Servings 4


  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1 orange pepper diced
  • 1 red onion diced
  • 1 T minced garlic
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 14.5 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 c coconut aminos or soy sauce for non-Whole30 followers


  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.

  2. Add pepper and onion and saute for about 5 minutes, or until softened.

  3. Add garlic and turkey. Break-up turkey into crumbles. Cook for about 8 minutes, or until turkey is browned. Drain and return to skillet over heat.

  4. Add tomato sauce and coconut aminos. Reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. (**This step of simmering for an extended time is critical to allow the flavors to really come out!)
