This is without a doubt one of my most popular (and personal favorite) recipes. You won’t find a brunch menu of mine without this on it. I guarantee it’ll quickly become a staple at your house too!
Sausage Braid
Ingredients
- 1/2 T olive oil
- 1/2 c onion chopped
- 1/2 c green pepper chopped
- 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 package crescent rolls (refrigerated dough)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F degrees.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Cook onions and peppers until softened.

Add sausage and cook until browned, draining any grease.

Add cream cheese to sausage mixture. Stir until cream cheese is melted throughout.

Cover a cookie sheet in tin foil and spray with cooking spray.

Roll crescent roll dough flat onto cookie sheet, be sure to pinch perforations together so there are not any holes.

Down the middle of the crescent roll dough, lay sausage mixture.

On either side of the sausage mixture, cut 1 inch slits in the dough.

Pull slits of dough over the sides and top of the sausage mixture in a braiding motion, being sure to pinch the ends.

Bake for about 15 minutes, until crescent dough is golden brown. Serve warm.
