A Royal Celebration for Baby King!

A Royal Celebration for Baby King!

A few weeks ago I hosted a baby shower for my best friend.  Selecting the theme was a piece of cake!  Given their last name is King, a medieval theme was a must!  Plus it is a very unique theme for a baby shower, perfect for this one-of-a-kind momma to be!  See all of the details of this festive affair below!

Menu:

  • “Crown Jewels” – Grapes and fruit dip
  • “King’s Treasure” – Gold and silver chocolate nuggets
  • “Dragon Eggs” – Deviled Eggs
  • “Dragon Scales” – Tortilla Chips
  • “Fire Breathing Salsa” – Salsa
  • “Sir Maverick Sliders” – Equal parts hot italian sausage, ground beef, velveeta on slider rolls (I did 2lbs each for about 50 sliders)
  • “Shields” – Cheese
  • “Swords” – Pretzel rods
  • “Dungeon Dip” – Onion Dip
  • “Renaissance Turkey Legs” – Chicken wings
  • Cupcakes – I forgot a cute nametag 🙂
  • Drinks – Apple Sangria and Virgin Cider Punch

Decor:

  • Food name tags – As seen in the pictures above, I printed out the food titles in Renaissance font on white paper and burned the edges.  I then glued the paper onto construction paper tents.
  • Paper products from Oriental Trading
  • Table banner from Target
  • Table backdrop – Dungeon wall from a local party store (purchased during Halloween), silver mesh netting from Michael’s, Paper banners from Amazon
  • Silver and gold serving dishes
  • Child’s castle tent from my son’s playroom 🙂 (or Ikea)
  • Castle Cupcake Tower from Oriental Trading
  • Shields, swords from Hobby Lobby
  • Personalized banner from Target
  • Pendant banner from Amazon
  • “Throne” – Used a dining room table chair, a paper crown, and a Pottery Barn ‘bear skin rug’ blanket for the momma-to-be to open her gifts in
